Meet the Kismet Team:

 

Bo Jordan, CPM – Owner
A native of Memphis, Bo began buying investment properties in 2004. As a hands-on investor, he rehabbed his own properties, and found an affinity for the work. In 2007, he joined Kismet Property Management, LLC as manager of their property management division. One year later, he bought the company to focus mainly on property management. Today, he administers new business, oversees upkeep of properties, represents the company in legal transactions, and ensures adherence to best practices and standards.

For day-to-day activities, he feels very fortunate to have a staff that he trusts completely. “One of the most rewarding things about my job is watching my staff handle great responsibility,” he says. “They all meet challenges well and are constantly finding ways to improve both the business and themselves.”

Bo has 13 years of experience in progressive management, and an additional 10 as an investor/manager. He is an Affiliate Broker and is a member of the Institute of Real Estate Management. In 2011, he achieved designation as a Certified Property Manager, the highest professional appellation in the field of real estate property management. Bo’s experience in finding, negotiating, planning, financing, rehab construction, and operation of investment properties are an asset to his clients.

“My staff and I work hard to establish personal relationships with our clients,” Bo says. “I think it shows in our rock-solid reputation within the Memphis area, which is something I really value and work hard to maintain.”


Deboarah Smith – Operations Manager
Deboarah joined Kismet Management Properties, LLC in 2011. Her areas of responsibility are varied, with the duties of both office manager and leasing agent. As manager, she oversees maintenance vendors and contractors, is responsible for the budgets of all maintenance projects, and supervises the office staff. In addition, she is one of the friendly voices clients hear on the phone, as she meets their needs on a day-to-day basis. As one of Kismet’s leasing agents, she works mostly in the Midtown neighborhood close to the office.

Deboarah previously worked as a leasing agent for a large apartment complex, and has enjoyed the challenges and learning opportunities of working in property management. “I have learned so much in the past few years,” she says. “The most rewarding aspect of my job is the satisfaction of maintaining properties to a high standard, and meeting each client’s needs as fairly as possible. I enjoy working with the tenants and forming a connection with them.”


Shameka Glenn – Maintenance Coordinator
Shameka is another of the friendly voices both tenants and owners hear when they call the office. Renters submit requests to her for repairs and maintenance, and she coordinates with vendors to make sure the job is done properly. Shameka works with owners to make sure all maintenance costs are approved, and processes all lease payments. Her responsibilities include “make readies” – ensuring that each newly vacated property is ready for potential tenants.

Shameka holds an associate degree in Business from the University of Phoenix, but feels she has learned the most from on the job training at Kismet. She says she appreciates the family-like atmosphere of the office: “We work together to get the job done, just like any family. The work environment translates to how we treat our clients. My favorite part of my job is meeting people, getting to know them, and developing a relationship with them built on trust.”


LaTasha Smith – Leasing and Marketing Coordinator
LaTasha joined the company in 2011, first as a part of the maintenance crew. She quickly learned on the job, and became a full-time leasing agent in 2012. Her areas of responsibility include marketing available properties, showing homes to potential tenants, and ensuring proper maintenance. She works mostly in the North Memphis area, concentrating mainly in Frayser, but is responsible for other properties throughout the metro area.

LaTasha earned her BS degree in Business Administration Management from LeMoyne-Owen College, and is working towards her real estate license. Meeting potential tenants, listening to their needs, and working with them to find the perfect property is the most rewarding part of her job. “We want to make sure you are comfortable in the home you rent from us,” she said. “I think that is what makes us stand out from other property management companies.”


Amy Jordan – Leasing Agent
Amy matches clients with available homes in Cordova, Collierville, Bartlett, and Germantown. Her job entails listening carefully to the requirements of potential tenants and showing homes that meet or exceed their expectations. Before each viewing, Amy previews the home and is prepared to answer questions about the property and the surrounding neighborhood and school district.

Amy’s background in sales and marketing help her to be an effective agent for her clients. “Being prepared for every showing means there are no surprises for the tenant,” she says. “I enjoy interacting with my clients and finding the right home that fits their individual needs and I enjoy being a part of the Kismet team. The company has a reputation in the industry of high quality service and dependability – when we say we are going to do something, we do it. I get a lot of compliments from satisfied clients, which is a great feeling!”


Andrea Reynolds – Realtor
Andrea joined Kismet in 2007 as a newly licensed real estate agent. Her nine years on the job have given her valuable expertise in buying and selling homes. An Affiliate Broker and Realtor representing all areas of Memphis and the surrounding communities, Andrea handles all aspects of our clients’ real estate transactions from initial contact to closing.

Andrea grew up in the business – her father was a real estate broker as well, and was a part of the Kismet management team for many years – and truly enjoys her job. “I like getting to know my clients and their families well, and forming a lasting bond with them. Behind every transaction is a story, and it is important to me to listen to find out exactly what each client needs. Both aspects of my job are very rewarding – selling a home for the optimal price, and finding the home my client has been dreaming of.”
